PMI-RMP Syllabus & Domain Map

Official-source-aligned PMI-RMP scope map with domains, topic order, and study priorities.

Use this page as the official-domain coverage map for PMI-RMP®. The chapter structure below follows PMI’s current exam content outline, and predictive, agile, and hybrid approaches can appear across all five domains.

Official domains and weights

What each domain covers

  • Risk Strategy and Planning: preliminary document analysis, project environment, appetite, thresholds, strategy, planning artifacts, and stakeholder engagement
  • Risk Identification: structured identification exercises, assumption and constraint analysis, triggers, thresholds, and register quality
  • Risk Analysis: qualitative prioritization, quantitative methods, and the interpretation of threats, opportunities, complexity, and compliance impact
  • Risk Response: response strategy selection, ownership, contingency logic, implementation, and residual or secondary risk effects
  • Monitor and Close Risks: performance data, variance, residual risk monitoring, updates to project documents, reporting, and closeout discipline
