AIPGF Foundation Exam Guide

AIPGF Foundation guide with exam overview, syllabus map, study plan, cheat sheet, FAQ, resources, and practice support.

This page is the start-here hub for the APMG AI Project Governance Framework (AIPGF) Foundation exam on PMExams. Use it when you want a compact reading-first pass across the framework instead of jumping straight into isolated quick-reference pages.

Foundation level is less about memorizing isolated AI terms and more about recognizing how governance should be structured around AI use in projects and programmes: what the framework is for, how AI changes governance expectations, how roles and controls fit together, and how maturity and tailoring decisions should be made.

APMG currently describes Foundation as a closed-book, 40-question, 40-minute multiple-choice exam with a 50% pass mark. That means you need more than broad agreement with responsible-AI slogans. Stronger answers separate governance structure from general good intentions, distinguish ethical use from efficient or effective use, and recognize what stronger oversight looks like in realistic project situations.

Best reading order

  1. Study Plan if you want a short structured path
  2. the five main chapter blocks when the framework is still new
  3. Cheat Sheet for high-yield review
  4. Practice for short drills and miss-pattern repair
  5. FAQ, Resources, and Glossary when you need policy, terminology, or official links

Use this hub to sharpen one thing above all: whether the answer creates the right governance structure before trying to optimize it.
