PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner v2 Choose Techniques

Agile techniques solve specific delivery problems. Practitioner questions often describe a symptom: poor transparency, late feedback, uncontrolled changes, weak collaboration, unclear priority, or slow flow. The stronger answer selects a technique that addresses that symptom.

Technique fit

Use visual boards when work is hidden. Use timeboxes when focus, cadence, and feedback are needed. Use demos when stakeholders need to inspect what has been delivered. Use retrospectives when the team needs to improve how it works. Use flow limits when too much work in progress is blocking delivery.

Do not select a technique because it sounds agile. Select it because it improves the situation.

Governance fit

The technique also must fit PRINCE2 control. A demo can improve feedback but does not replace stage reporting. A team board can show progress but does not remove the need to manage tolerances. A retrospective can improve working practices but does not authorize scope changes outside governance.
