PRINCE2 Foundation v7 Practice Drills

PRINCE2 Foundation v7 practice guidance for scenario reading, calculations, written responses, answer discipline, and readiness checks.

Use this page when you want to move from reading into timed recall and scenario-based selection. Practice works best after you have a clean mental map of the method; otherwise misses turn into random memorization.

When practice is most useful

  • start with short targeted sets after reading the syllabus blocks
  • use mixed sets only after your principle, product, and process logic is stable
  • revisit the Cheat Sheet after each short drill, especially when misses cluster around the same control distinction

Readiness check

Before you lean heavily on drills, you should already be able to explain:

  • how principles, practices, and processes connect instead of feeling like three separate lists
  • why tolerances and management by exception matter to the stronger answer
  • which management product makes a situation governable

If those explanations are still weak, review the PRINCE2 Foundation exam guide or the Cheat Sheet before pushing volume.

What to practice in sets of 10 to 20

Practice focus What you should be testing
principle and practice questions whether you can connect the rule to the control outcome instead of reciting names
role and responsibility questions whether you can place ownership before escalation or reporting
management product questions whether you can match the product to the decision or control need
tolerance and exception questions whether you can tell when the scenario is within control versus outside delegated authority

What to log when you miss

  • Did you miss a principle, role, or management product?
  • Did you forget the within-tolerance versus exception boundary?
  • Did you choose a generic PM answer instead of a PRINCE2 control answer?

What to do after a weak set

If misses cluster around… Go back to…
principle and practice distinctions the principles and practices sections in the Cheat Sheet
role or responsibility confusion the role sections in the Cheat Sheet
management product selection the product sections in the Cheat Sheet
tolerance and exception logic the control sections in the Cheat Sheet and Syllabus

If the same miss pattern repeats twice, stop doing more random questions and repair that one decision rule first.
