PRINCE2 Practitioner v7 Practice Drills

PRINCE2 Practitioner v7 practice guidance for scenario reading, calculations, written responses, answer discipline, and readiness checks.

Use this page when you want to move from reading into scenario judgment and recommendation selection. Practitioner practice is strongest when you review misses as control mistakes, tailoring mistakes, or weak recommendation logic.

When practice is most useful

  • start with short scenario sets after reviewing the syllabus map
  • use mixed sets only after your tailoring, control, and recommendation logic is stable
  • revisit the Cheat Sheet after each drill, especially when misses cluster around the same application pattern

Readiness check

Before you lean heavily on drills, you should already be able to explain:

  • why Practitioner answers are mostly about applying PRINCE2 controls in context
  • how tolerances, stage boundaries, and exception logic drive the next best step
  • when tailoring is valid and when it breaks the method’s principles

If those explanations are still weak, review the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam guide or the Cheat Sheet before pushing volume.

What to practice in sets of 10 to 20

Practice focus What you should be testing
scenario recommendation questions whether you can pick the best immediate PRINCE2 action, not just a plausible improvement
tailoring questions whether you can adapt the method without breaking a principle or control
role and report questions whether you can match the recommendation to the right owner and product
tolerance and exception questions whether you can tell when the decision stays within delegated authority versus needing escalation

What to log when you miss

  • Did you choose an action that skipped governance or assessment?
  • Did you miss the right role, report, or control product?
  • Did you tailor the method in a way that breaks a principle?

What to do after a weak set

If misses cluster around… Go back to…
control and recommendation choices the application sections in the Cheat Sheet
tailoring logic the tailoring sections in the Cheat Sheet
roles, reports, or products the role and product sections in the Cheat Sheet
tolerance and exception logic the control sections in the Cheat Sheet and Syllabus

If the same miss pattern repeats twice, stop doing more random questions and repair that one decision rule first.
