PMP Exam Guide

PMP guide with exam overview, syllabus map, study plan, cheat sheet, FAQ, resources, and practice support.

This page is the start-here hub for PMP® on PMExams. Use it when you want a compact exam-focused path across people, process, and business-environment decisions instead of jumping straight into mixed sets.

Stronger PMP answers usually identify the objective, constraint, missing information, and best next step before acting. Weak answers often solve the wrong problem, skip governance, or choose a method that does not fit the scenario.

As of April 2, 2026, this mirror guide follows the current PMP exam that remains in effect through July 8, 2026. The separate PMP 2026 hub is for the new exam structure starting July 9, 2026.

Start with Overview, then use the Syllabus to see the current official domain weighting that organizes this guide.

PMP guide structure

This educational guide is organized around PMI’s current three domains:

  • People for conflict, leadership, coaching, negotiation, collaboration, and stakeholder judgment
  • Process for value delivery, planning, communication, risk, quality, scope, schedule, cost, change, governance, and closure
  • Business Environment for compliance, value, external change, and organizational change

Best reading path

  1. Read Overview.
  2. Use Syllabus to understand the current official weights.
  3. Work through People, Process, and Business Environment in order, spending the most time in Process because it carries the largest exam weight.
  4. Use Study Plan if you want pacing.
  5. Use Cheat Sheet, Practice, FAQ, and Resources as support pages around the main guide.
