Official-source-aligned current PMP scope map for exams through July 8, 2026, with domains, topic order, and study priorities.
On this page
Use this page as the coverage map for the current PMP® exam. On PMExams, the guide is organized around PMI’s current official domain weighting table so the reading path matches the current exam structure in effect through July 8, 2026.
If your exam is on or after July 9, 2026, use the PMP 2026 Syllabus & Domain Map instead. The new PMP 2026 route keeps People, Process, and Business Environment, but rebalances the weights and gives more attention to outcomes, value, AI, sustainability, stakeholder engagement, and adaptive real-world project dynamics.
Current PMP domain weighting
People:42%
Process:50%
Business Environment:8%
Chapter map
People covers conflict, leadership, coaching, negotiation, collaboration, team agreements, and stakeholder influence.
Process covers value delivery, planning, communication, risk, quality, scope, schedule, cost, procurement, governance, change, and closure.
Business Environment covers compliance, benefits, external change, and organizational change.
Predictive, agile, and hybrid method choice is cross-cutting. It appears inside all three domains rather than as a separate public chapter.
How to study from the weighting
spend the most time in Process, because it carries half of the current exam
treat People as the judgment layer that often determines the strongest answer in team and stakeholder scenarios
use Business Environment to sharpen value, compliance, and change-readiness judgment even though it is the smallest domain
