PMI-CP Syllabus & Domain Map

Official-source-aligned PMI-CP scope map with domains, topic order, and study priorities.

Use this page as the coverage map for PMI-CP™. On PMExams, the guide is organized around PMI’s current official domain weighting table so the reading path matches the exam structure.

Current PMI-CP domain weighting

  • Contracts Management: 50%
  • Stakeholder Engagement: 30%
  • Strategy and Scope Management: 15%
  • Project Governance: 5%

Chapter map

  • Contracts Management covers risk process, risk tools, claims prevention and resolution, contract lifecycle decisions, and interface management.
  • Stakeholder Engagement covers communication tools, strategy, stakeholder buy-in, resistance handling, and communication recovery.
  • Strategy and Scope Management covers scope outcomes, revisions, change orders, and scope-management tools.
  • Project Governance covers governance models, scope governance structures, and formal control practices for built environment projects.

How to study from the weighting

  • spend the most time in Contracts Management, because it carries half of the exam
  • treat Stakeholder Engagement as the coordination and alignment layer that often determines whether claims and change pressure get better or worse
  • use Strategy and Scope Management and Project Governance to sharpen decisions about what should change, how it should change, and who should approve it
