PMI-SP Syllabus & Domain Map

Official-source-aligned PMI-SP scope map with domains, topic order, and study priorities.

Use this page as the official-domain coverage map for PMI-SP®. The chapter structure below follows PMI’s current publicly posted exam content outline, and the clearest reading path is to move from schedule setup through build quality, control, closeout, and stakeholder communication.

Official domains and weights

What each domain covers

  • Schedule Strategy: schedule governance, configuration control, tools, thresholds, and how scheduling integrates with the broader project management plan
  • Schedule Planning and Development: decomposition, coding, sequencing, estimating, resource alignment, milestone logic, and creation of the performance measurement baseline
  • Schedule Monitoring and Controlling: statusing, schedule quality checks, forecast interpretation, change control, and corrective action
  • Schedule Closeout: final schedule acceptance, final reporting, lessons learned, and archiving of schedule records
  • Stakeholder Communications Management: schedule visibility, stakeholder relationships, executive communication, and escalation of schedule issues

How to use this hub

  1. Use the domain chapters as the main educational guide.
  2. Use the Study Plan if you want pacing.
  3. Use the Cheat Sheet for formulas and fast reminders.
  4. Move to Practice after each domain or weak cluster.
  5. Use Resources for the official PMI source list.

If PMI later updates the exam outline, treat Resources as the place to verify the live official source.
